Advisory CouncilThe MIT Leadership Center Advisory Council is composed of exceptional, high-level, global leaders who serve as a sounding board in developing and executing the direction and priorities of the Center. Members provide an external perspective on defining leadership challenges, and how the Center should develop leaders. Council members are actively engaged in our leadership programs, serving as role models and mentors for MIT students. Recently members have presented such sessions as Decision-Making: The Key to Leadership, Front-Line Leadership, and Leadership and Entrepreneurship. Mike Armstrong, former chairman and CEO of Hughes, AT&T and Comcast, presented Ready in a Crisis, bringing together government and business leaders to share their expertise and experience in preparing for security disasters. Another popular offering, Leadership in the Non-profit Sector, is presided over by Jeff Shames. Shames, who is Executive in Residence at MIT Sloan and retired chairman of MFS Investment Management, arranges for leaders to discuss challenges and opportunities in non-profits. The Council is expanding to incorporate government and non-profit leaders as well as business leaders from around the world.
